My dad has been ’sending’ me a car for 2 months should I wait or buy my own?
In early December my car broke died and I’ve been without a vehicle since then. I am a 22 yr old college student who is really good with money and responsible and I wanted some advice from random ppl.
My dad has a ‘79 Cutlass that he hasn’t driven in SIX years, he supposedly makes all this money and yes, he has a multitude of cars. Meanwhile, his eldest daughter is in South Georgia with no vehicle.
He has been saying that he is getting the vehicle mechanically sound, but every time I call it sounds like he is out joy riding as I walk and look a damn fool on a daily basis.
I just got off the phone with him and he’s like it should be here ‘hopefully’ in mid-March…a month ago it should have been here last week. My step-dad has offered to come down this weekend and help me buy a car, and a few months ago I asked my dad if i bought a car would he handle the insurance and he said yes. I have about $3000 to spend and I can handle about $100 month for car payments. What should I do?
You Dad is about as dead as that 79 Cutlass. A 1979 model would be very hard to find parts for and Oldsmobile’s are now dinosaurs.
Invest in a newer economical small car which get good mileage such as a Toyota or Nissan.
