Catastrophic health coverage?
In most states there is a catastrophic auto insurance that covers auto accidents with medical coverage over a million dollars. In my state it’s around $150 per car per year. Wouldn’t a plan that required states to do something like this that would cover anyone without insurance have been a much better choice?
Yes, that is what insurance is for. Unfortunately people believe that “health care insurance”, is insurance when in reality it is”prepaid health care”. For instance you don’t go to your mechanic and use your insurance card to pay for an oil change, you pay cash! It is the same concept as going to the doctor however when using your insurance card to pay for a check up your adding a middle man “the insurance company” when thrown into the loop only rises the cost of the service, and bringing you a health care system with a poorer quality.
